According to statistical data the families like Boryana’s are 20% less than these who decide to have a second child after the birth of a healthy first one. The parents of special-needs children face more difficulties in making the decision. At the same time the support that a second child can give for the development, growing and raising their special-needs sibling, is enormous.

The CHILD – disCuss and sHare famILy neeDs Project of Foundation “Kids with Developmental Problems”, financed under the framework of the NGO Programme in Bulgaria under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, starts a public debate and will establish a platform for informed support to families of disabled children to have a second kid, and to find a balanced approach towards the two, ensuring a healthy and optimal family environment
